You might be wondering what’s so special about another build for the popular browser. Well, this particular version also brought Loomi, which is Opera’s new online streaming service. And, seeing how spending time watching movies or series is actually a pretty big part of people’s free time, Opera decided to have its very own service to cater to all of its users.
How does Loomi work?
As we previously mentioned, Loomi is a streaming service that’s available as a standalone product, where users can play movies and TV shows, or it’s able to be integrated into the Opera web browser. The website itself has been designed to be as engaging and interactive as possible and, as far as languages go, it is available in English and Polish. But what makes this service different from all the other ones out there? Well, Loomi does not operate on a subscription basis, making it quite different from most streaming services available today. The Opera-powered platform offers customers a selection of free movies that they can watch without ever leaving their living room. As you would have imagined, the free selection of movies is powered by advertisements. Make an account to watch movies without Ads or sign in with an Opera account if you have one. The Loomi search engine, supported by Opera Software, will launch with new options for finding content. Opera users can use the regular search, or they can filter search results using mood, interest, characters, cast, story, and other parameters. This was the most popular feature in the beta version of Opera. When viewers watch a movie on the platform, they can share reactions with others as they watch.
How much does Loomi cost?
First of all. know that the selection of content available on Loomi is currently limited, but as with any new service or product, that should prove to be temporary. Also, keep in mind that Loomi is an open and freemium streaming service, which means that no subscription is required for accessing all the movies which will be gradually added to the service for rental. We know that your next question is related to the price, so we’ll disclose that as well. The rental price for premium movies varies from 6.99 to 14.99 PLN. Translated in US dollars, this means that you will have to pay between $1.63 and $3.50. Not too much, considering you are only renting the films, not buying them. Another important thing to keep in mind is that you will need a VPN to access the Loomi service, depending on where you are. Opera also has a new L-icon in the sidebar in Poland. You can click on the icon to display Loomi in the sidebar, just like you can with messengers, for instance. The inclusion of Loomi in the Opera web browser may help increase the service’s visibility, as more users may be prompted to try it out. Opera Software can now earn more money by offering its software through new channels. What do you think about Opera integrating with Loomi? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
